Severe stroke caused by large vessel occlusion progresses rapidly, and conventional intravenous thrombolysis has notable limitations. Mechanical thrombectomy can rapidly recanalize the occluded vessel and restore cerebral tissue perfusion. It has now become the principal life-saving treatment for severe acute ischemic stroke, effectively improving patients&amp;rsquo; clinical outcomes. However, post-procedural hemorrhagic transformation, as a frequent and devastating serious complication, can substantially offset the therapeutic benefits of the procedure, aggravate neurological impairment, and increase the risks of disability and death. Currently, no unified understanding has been reached regarding the risk factors and pathogenesis of this complication, and standardized and individualized prevention and treatment protocols are still lacking.
